Rusty support  ·  askrusty.com.au

If you need someone
right now.

Rusty is not a crisis service and cannot call anyone on your behalf. These can, any hour of any day.

Outside Australia, call your local emergency number. If you are on site, your employer’s EAP number is in the app under Get help.

Trouble with the app.

Most of it comes down to one of these. If yours isn’t here, write to us and a person will answer.

Your site code doesn’t work

Codes are issued by your employer, not by us, and they’re usually on the induction sheet or a poster in the crib room. Check for a typo — they’re case-sensitive. If it still won’t take, ask your supervisor or site administrator; we can’t look your code up for you, because we have no way to tell who you are.

Voice isn’t working

Check the app has microphone permission in your phone’s settings. Voice needs a live connection, so it will struggle on weak camp wi-fi where typing still works fine. Some employers switch voice off entirely — if there’s no call button, that’s why, and typed chat has exactly the same safety layer behind it.

It’s crashing or won’t open

Update to the latest version first, then restart the phone. If it keeps happening, write to us with your phone model and what you were doing when it went — that’s usually enough for us to find it.

Deleting your conversations

Delete the app. Your conversations are stored encrypted on your phone and nowhere else, so removing the app destroys them. There is no account to close and no copy on our servers for you to ask us to delete.

Who can see what you type

Nobody. Not us, and not your employer. We never ask your name, email, phone number or employee number, and the table that records safety events has no column that could hold a message. Your employer sees counts across a whole site, never a person.

Rusty said something wrong

It’s AI, and it will get things wrong. Tell us what it said and roughly when — it genuinely helps, and it’s how the thing gets better. If it said something that worried you about your own safety, please call one of the numbers at the top of this page.

Write to us.

A person reads this address. We’re a small Australian team, so it may not be instant, but it won’t be a bot.

support@askrusty.com.au

Please don’t send anything that identifies you if you’d rather we didn’t have it — we can help with almost everything without knowing who you are. Emailing us does mean we have your email address, which is the one thing the app itself never collects.
